Guam Springs Into Revival

Evangelism series by special guests

Guam has been blessed by a series of guest speakers over the last three weeks. The three notable presenters, Dr. David Shin, Pastor Conrad Vine, and Dr. Eddie Ramirez, held engagements at Adventist churches, at the Adventist school, and in the community.

Beginning on March 12, Dr. David Shin, President of Ouachita Hills College, equipped in-person and online listeners at the Agana Heights Seventh-day Adventist Church with practical skills to prepare spiritually for the end times. During his week-long visit, Dr. Shin also presented an afternoon seminar at the Ordot Seventh-day Adventist Church and spoke for the Friday morning chapel at Guam Adventist Academy (GAA).

The following week, Pastor Conrad Vine, President of Adventist Frontier Missions, arrived on the Pacific island to continue the revival. In the mornings, he delighted students at GAA with engaging chapel presentations during their Week of Prayer. In the evenings, Dr. Vine spoke at the Agana Heights SDA Church, where he expounded on the character-revealing names of God.

To reach even deeper into the community, during the final week, Dr. Eddie Ramirez, Director of AWHN and Healthwhys Lifestyle Medicine, conducted free health seminars at the Hilton Hotel. Sponsored by the Guam Seventh-dayAdventist Clinic, the hotel ballroom attracted many people from around the island who were anxious to hear Dr. Ramizez’s message, which connected physical well-being to the principles of the Bible. The series moved to the Ordot SDA Church for the Friday evening vespers time and concluded during the divine worship hour on Saturday morning.

Each of these fine evangelists had the opportunity to tour the Guam-Micronesia Mission headquarters during their stay, as well as to enjoy the island’s natural beauty by snorkeling, dolphin-watching, and hiking. The only scenes more moving were the ocean baptisms of nine souls during the Sabbath afternoons!

There is no greater joy than to witness the reaping of the fruit of evangelism. Many church members sang on the beach as they welcomed the new members to the family of God.

The month of March indeed proved to be a season for new life on Guam. May the Holy Spirit rain over the spiritual seeds that these men of God have planted on the island of Guam!
